Covanta Long Island Invasive Plant Removal

Covanta Hempstead pitched in and volunteered with the Nassau County Soil and Water Conservation District, one of 58 county districts in New York State that provide “on the ground” assistance for soil and water resources, preservation of wildlife, and promote the health, safety, and welfare of residents in their respective communities, at Cedarmere Pond in Roslyn, NY. Nassau County Soil Image

Volunteer, Maureen Early, spent the day removing invasive plants from the pond at Cedarmere Preserve. Her efforts to rid the pond of water lilies will improve the overall health of the local ecosystem.
