Another successful DEA Take Back! Covanta Marion , Covanta Long Beach and Covanta's Signal Hill Materials Processing Facility participated in DEA's National Prescription Take Back Day on April 22, 2023. During this event, Covanta's Rx4Safety teams partnered with the Long Beach (California) Police Department and the Linn County (Oregon) Sheriff's Office to donate and distribute prescription drug mail-back envelopes to the community.
The donated envelopes provide another tool to assist the public with regularly emptying out their medicine cabinets and reducing the chances of dangerous substances reaching the wrong hands or the vulnerable.
A special thanks to DEA and participating law enforcement agencies for supporting such an important program. Covanta is also honored to provide destruction services nationally for the substances collected during this event.
