Covanta Huntsville celebrated Earth Day this year by cleaning up their own “adopted” patch of the planet! Employees collected 15 bags of litter from the newly “adopted” area in the one mile radius around Patton Road. Moving forward, employees have committed to quarterly trash collections of the area.
Employees also joined the YMCA Togetherhood Clean-Up Day and Operation Green Team to make a difference at Ditto Landing, a local marina and waterfront area. Besides collecting a whopping total of 250 bags of garbage, the team diligently removed or covered-up graffiti, filled an entire roll-off dumpster with debris, and cut down invasive species to clear the edges of a pathway!
