Covanta Union employees participated in a cleanup effort at Capobianco Plaza, a housing development in Rahway, NJ. The cleanup crew cleared vegetation, raked leaves and cleared debris at the site. Covanta also sponsored the effort, which was led by Pastor Marti Robinson of Ebenezer A.M.E. Church.

The Maintenance Team at Covanta Union painted a refurbished grapple pink to show their respect and raise attention for the upcoming Breast Cancer Awareness month in October. The idea came to light when the employees wanted to honor a co-worker who passed away after a long battle to cancer.

Covanta Union was excited to teach local high school students from the Teen Works program about waste-to-energy and discuss career options in the STEM field. The students also took a grand tour of the facility to see the waste process in action.

Employees at Covanta Union stepped up and met the #Trashtag Challenge this past April! The Challenge was designed by Covanta’s Sustainability Employee Resource Group (ERG) to encourage individual facilities to hold cleanup events within their communities.

Covanta Union and the company’s Morristown, NJ headquarters teamed up this holiday season for an epic toy drive to help ensure New Jersey’s children all received a present this year. The toys were distributed to three different groups, just in time for the holidays.
