Covanta Lake Sustainable Waste Management

Covanta Lake is proud to help another Florida community decrease its reliance on landfills by counting The Villages in Sumter County as the latest location to sends its trash to the Waste-to-Energy facility.

The facility processes residual waste left over after it is sorted for recycling and processes it into electricity. Every day, all day, Covanta Lake produces 14 megawatts of energy - that's enough to power 8,100 homes for one year!
