Stanislaus Gives a Unique Gift

January 26, 2021

Covanta Stanislaus Center for Human Services Donation

Covanta Stanislaus recently made an unusual, but important donation to the local Center for Human Services, a long-term community partner. During a Future Farmers of America auction, the Covanta team purchased a hog to supply the center with fresh pork!

The meat was delivered to the center by Lead I&E Technician Mario Gonzalez and then distributed to 15 local families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The work by the Covanta Stanislaus team not only supports local families in need, build helps nurture the next generation of California farmers, which are so vital to agricultural production in the United States. Above are pictures of the hog, as well as of Gonzalez (left) with a member from the Center for Human Services (right).
