Covanta’s Long Island facilities (Covanta Babylon, Covanta Hempstead, Covanta Huntington and Covanta MacArthur) sent representatives to the recent meeting of Long Island Metro Business Association, which featured a representative from bulk power transmission developer New York Transco. The representative discussed modernization plans for the electric transmission grid in response to New York State’s aggressive new renewable energy goals.
