Covanta Miami-Dade sponsored and participated in the county of Miami-Dade’s 2021 International Coastal Cleanup Day. The facility members were part of the 2,984 volunteers to help clean up the debris from the beaches and waterways. An estimated 17,771 pounds of garbage was collected from the event.
VolunteerCleanup.org engages volunteers to clean up their neighborhoods, shorelines and waterways. The organization also raises awareness about marine debris and encourages people to reduce their reliance on single-use plastics.
