Covanta Hempstead Soup Kitchen Donation

Covanta Hempstead donated several whole pallets of assorted food items to a local food drive this past February. The food drive was arranged in support of the Mary Brennan Inn, which has been serving Long Island’s hungry in a dignified and respectful manner to help them achieve self-sufficiency for over 30 years. Originally opened as a soup kitchen, the Inn has grown provide a broad array of essential services to fight homelessness and poverty, including soup kitchens, emergency shelters, a long-term housing program and a free clothing boutique and resource center.

The Inn remains a working model of how to unite the community to overcome the challenge of hunger and homelessness on Long Island.
