DEA Take Back Day in Tulsa

Covanta Tulsa was honored to once again partner with law enforcement during DEA Take Back on Saturday, October 23, 2021. We had the privilege of partnering with the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) in Tulsa during the event.

Covanta donated and helped distribute consumer Rx mail-back envelopes to the community at five (5) OBN collection sites in Tulsa. These non-descript mail-back envelopes can be used by citizens to empty their medicine cabinets of unwanted prescription medication between Take Back events, at no cost to citizens and from the comfort, convenience and privacy of their home. Mail back envelopes are a safe, secure and DEA compliant method of disposing of unwanted medication while ensuring that they stay out of the environment and out of the wrong hands. Mail back envelopes are an additional tool available to the public to help tackle the prescription drug abuse problem in the nation.

"The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) was proud to partner with Covanta Environmental Solutions in Tulsa during Saturday's DEA Prescription Drug Take Back event. During the event, Covanta donated and helped distribute mail-back envelopes to the community at OBN's five collection sites around Tulsa. Covanta's mail-back envelopes are yet another tool in the arsenal in the fight against prescription drug abuse.” said Donnie Anderson, Director of OBN. Covanta and OBN have been working together for 10 years to collect and dispose of unwanted prescription medication.

Covanta is also honored to have been selected to incinerate the Rx waste collected in Tulsa, as well as other, Take Back locations nationally.
