Executive leaders from across Covanta’s functional areas make up The Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Council. Each quarter they meet to discuss strategies for advancing diverse candidates, while aligning strategies with key business objectives.
CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion
In 2019, Covanta joined CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion, the largest CEO-driven business commitment to representation in the workplace. Hundreds of leaders from organizations across the U.S. share best practices for encouraging diverse perspectives and welcoming workplace discussion of inclusion topics.
Employee Resource Groups are an integral part of our diversity and inclusion efforts. Each group—Covanta Black Professionals, Covanta LatinX, Early Career Connections, RISE (Women of Covanta) and Sustainability—brings together employees with shared interests, characteristics or life experiences to collaborate and contribute to the advancement of our company. Employee Resource Groups positively influence workplace culture and address issues and obstacles that are important to them.

At Covanta we have many important roles to fill, from tech specialties to skilled trades. Because these are difficult jobs that require dedicated, highly trained professionals, military veterans are often a natural fit.
