In Your Community

Covanta strives to make a positive impact wherever we can. Through our community-based programs, we work with a variety of organizations on core environmental issues.

Our facility-run initiatives enlist volunteers to help clean up rivers, streets and parks. On the local level, we support food pantries, recycling programs, even sports teams. Wherever we can make a difference, that’s where you’ll find us.

Community Engagement

With our commitment to sustainability comes a commitment to programs that support the environmental issues we believe in – issues like clean air, clean water, and safe oceans.

Covanta’s extensive Energy-from-Waste (EfW) infrastructure places us in a unique position to help solve environmental and social challenges. For many years, we have supported and led initiatives to safely dispose of unwanted medications, help remove and manage marine debris and prevent mercury pollution from consumer goods.
